This is the largest diametre Oak tree that I have found over Cannock Chase. Few people know where this is. I would estimate this tree is between 500 - 1000 years old.
Funny to think that Cannock Chase used to be full of Ancient Oak Trees such as this one. Nowadays, the Chase is mainly composed of trees like Corsican Pine and Beech, most of which will be cut and replanted by the forestry commision.
